Mr Aaron Woolley

Aaron is the principal Physiotherapist at Robina Physio. Aaron completed his Bachelor of Physiotherapy from Charles Sturt University. He has special interests in managing complex cases, sports medicine, musculoskeletal physiotherapy and chronic pain. Aaron has completed additional training in acupuncture and dry needling, kinesio taping as well strength and conditioning coaching and is level 2 middle/long distance running coach.

Aaron also has additional training and expertise in bike fitting in which he combines extensive knowledge of the human anatomy and physiology with the bio-mechanical principles of cycling.

Aaron competes in and has a special interest in triathlon including sports screening and rehabilitation. Aaron has a passion for teaching and he work as Small Group Learning Facilitator in the Bond University Medical Program on the days he is not in the clinic.

Robina Physio Leigh

Ms Leigh McCutcheon

Graduated from Sydney University in 1991 & established the Robina Physiotherapy Clinic in 1993 and the Elanora Physiotherapy Clinic in 1995. In 1999 Leigh completed a years study to gain her Graduate Certificate in Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapy and then went onto specialise as a manipulative therapist with a Master of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy (first class honours).

Leigh has also completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Western Acupuncture. She now lectures locally and nationally to postgraduate physiotherapists. Leigh also has just completed a Research Fellowship at Griffith University studying the effect of acupuncture on Whiplash Associated Disorder.

Additional interests include treatment of the Temporomandibular Disorder, shoulder rehabilitation, neck and head ache pain, lower limb biomechanics and sports & spinal rehabilitation.

Robina Physio Corinne

Ms Corinne O’Connor

Corinne graduated from Sydney University in 1995. Prior to moving to the Gold Coast, she worked in private practice in regional Queensland for 10 years, with lots of experience in managing acute and chronic musculoskeletal and neurological conditions, ergonomic assessment, the aged care sector and hydrotherapy.

Prior to this, Corinne worked for a chronic pain clinic in Sydney and continues to be passionate about assisting clients in the management of chronic and recurring conditions. With a strong focus on providing a “toolbox” approach to equip people to better self-manage their condition.

Corinne has completed additional post-graduate training in acupuncture and dry needling, hydrotherapy, Pilates and gerontology. Outside of physiotherapy, Corinne has also completed a Diploma of Bible and Mission and is in the process of completing a formal Mentor Training program. She keeps busy with being a soccer and netball mum and a pastor’s wife.

Robina Physio Yona

Mr Jonathan “Yona” Dorfzaun

Jonathan “Yona” completed undergraduate degrees in Anthropology and Sports Science in the USA and Australia, respectively. Yona has since completed his Doctor of Physiotherapy degree at Bond University. His multiple degrees have enabled him to work with people all over the world in a variety of healthcare settings.

Yona has a special interest in treating sporting injuries as well as retraining the body for both high performance and daily life. He values the personal and human aspects of physiotherapy and incorporates this into his delivery of treatment and rehabilitation interventions, ensuring his patients have the best opportunity to achieve their goals and live their life to the fullest.

Yona completed additional training in acupuncture and dry needling, coaching sports teams, young athletes, yoga, and strength and conditioning. He has worked with numerous soccer teams in the USA, Israel, and is currently the physio for Broadbeach United Soccer Club in Gold Coast. Yona is a competitive soccer player, a devoted yoga practitioner, and he enjoys climbing, cycling, and surfing.

Ms Veronica Ptak-Zylka

Veronica is a passionate and energetic physiotherapist who brings a unique blend of clinical knowledge, lived experience, and holistic care to every session. After completing her Doctor of Physiotherapy at Bond University, she joined our team with a mission to empower people to take charge of their health – inside and out.

With a strong foundation in health, fitness, and teaching, Veronica integrates her background in nursing, mental health, exercise science, and physiotherapy into individualised, patient-centred care. She has a particular interest in autoimmune and neurological rehabilitation, sports injuries, and functional recovery. A former national-level soccer and futsal player, she truly understands the first-hand journey of injury, healing, and resilience.

Veronica believes in treating the whole person, not just the condition, and always prioritises her patients’ goals, values, and quality of life—understanding that recovery isn’t linear, and people are more than their diagnosis. She brings a strong foundation in trauma-informed care, neurorehabilitation, chronic pain management, and functional retraining; recently publishing Rehabilitation Beyond the Injury: A Mixed Methods Systematic Review of Trauma-Informed Care Strategies for Athletes Experiencing Career-Ending Injuries.

Veronica’s additional training includes Strength & Conditioning coaching, Advanced Sports and KT Taping, past Soccer and Futsal Coaching Accreditation, and she is currently completing her certification in Dry Needling. She uses these skills to deliver dynamic, evidence-based treatment that supports movement quality, performance, and long-term wellbeing.

She values open communication and makes it a priority that each person feels heard, understood, and supported on their rehabilitation journey. Veronica is bilingual in English and Polish, and when she’s not in the clinic, you’ll find her outdoors with her two cavoodles, spending time with family, or learning new approaches to optimise her patient health outcomes.

Ms Karin van Heerden

Completed her physiotherapy degree in South Africa in 1982. Karin’s experience has been primarily in private practice with special interest in sports medicine, musculoskeletal physiotherapy, acupuncture and orthopaedics. Post graduate courses have been completed in acupuncture and dry needling, advance knee treatment, personal training & gym instructing, biomechanic assessment and exercise prescription, and orthopaedic manipulative therapy. Karin works with state representative netball players as well as local teams. Karin is presently completing post graduate studies in sports medicine through La Trobe University and tutors in conjunction with Leigh to post graduate physiotherapists.

Robina Physio Corey

Mr Corey McDonald

Corey McDonald has completed his Doctor of Physiotherapy at Bond University, alongside an undergraduate in Exercise Science through Griffith University on the Gold Coast. He has spent the last 12+ years specialising in exercise rehabilitation and strength & conditioning coaching on the Gold Coast and in Germany where he lived and studied abroad for two years. Corey has an immense, genuine passion for working with people to assist them to overcome injuries and thrive in their performance whether it be for work, sport and/or life. As a Physiotherapist, he holds strong values in providing patient centred care using many modalities to provide pain relief, education and exercise for each patient enabling them to create a stronger body and prevent future injuries. Corey has additional qualifications with the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association, Dry Needling and Acupuncture as well as Precision Nutrition. Outside of the clinic, Corey loves to surf, train at the gym, play TRL and enjoy time spent outdoors with friends and family.
